Ever wanted to sing along to your favorite songs but not known the words? Lord knows you’re not alone in that. Ever since lyrical music became popular there have been fans trying to memorize the words to their favorite ditties.

Raphael Haroche is no exception. He has some lovely songs out right now; it’s just a matter of keeping along with them that’s the problem. It’s especially difficult if you don’t speak the language.

But hey. With the internet, anything is possible - and in this case, easily possible, if you’re looking for Raphael Haroche lyrics. And if you’re looking for lyrics, look no further than this place. A Haroche site in general, they also have an extensive list of his lyrics. (Just be careful of your browser’s pop-up blocker; it seems to like keeping the lyrics out of your grasp.)

“Sur la Route” is a highly stylistic, cell-animated video, with a roughly fifty fifty split between real life singer and band and computer generated characters that look just like their band counterparts.

It starts with one of them trapped in a jail cell - and Raphael always is trapped in the cell - but but the one guy manages to escape, transforming into an animated version of himself in the process. Guided by another man they walk through a series of strange and wonderful worlds, through clouds filled with buildings and up steep cliffs, seemingly on the run from an air force of sorts.

Then it segues back to their cell and one of them, looking partially animated again, starts to slam a stool against his cell wall, breaking through - and, upon escaping, discovering himself as animated again. The song ends with the two of them looking at a beach.

It’s a neat video, even if you can’t understand the lyrics. Have a look.

For the Caravane sessions, Raphael Haroche recruited guitarist Carlos Alomar, a veteran of David Bowie’s band, whom Haroche has always admired. Caravane recieved the award for “Best Chansons/Varietes Album”, and the lead single “Caravane” won “Best Original Song.” Raphael Haroche’s latest album, “Resistance a la nuit,” was released in March of this year, and is available from EMI records.

Caravane Lyrics :

allez viens
